It’s just a game.

Sport is meant to be about creating, not surviving.

—Your sport is what you do, not who you are—

This perspective creates freedom. Freedom is where creativity, performance and enjoyment begin.

Be still and know

-Psalm 46:10

It’s more than just a game.

Sport is the greatest classroom.
Adversity is the greatest teacher.

—What you learn is far more valuable than the outcome—

This perspective creates purpose. Purpose is where identity, fulfillment, and growth begin.

Be transformed by the renewal of your mind

He uses many tools to motivate and teach, and all the while our player has grown mentally in his game and practice approach, his confidence on and off the field, and meaningful off-field personal adjustments. We know Coach JJ is the catalyst in our son’s improvements and large factor in our athlete’s successes.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I combine high-level playing experience with formal training in performance psychology. I have experienced the pressure, failure, and uncertainty of competition firsthand. The lessons I teach were not learned in a classroom alone. They were forged through setbacks, reflection, and growth.

Early in my career, I recognized that faith and the mental game are deeply connected. While many professional athletes identify as religious, that foundation is rarely integrated into structured performance training. When appropriate, I help athletes align belief, identity, and competition in a way that produces stability under pressure.

  • I work with individual athletes, performers, teams, and coaches. Services include one-on-one mental performance coaching, team workshops, seasonal development programs, and integrated hitting instruction combined with perceptual-cognitive training when location allows.

All work is practical and applied. Each program is tailored to the athlete’s competitive environment and individualized based on how they experience pressure, attention, and identity in the moment.

  • Reach out through the contact form to schedule a brief consultation call.

We will discuss the athlete’s goals, current challenges, and determine whether we are a good fit before beginning.

  • Mental performance coaching is not about fixing something broken.

It is about strengthening what is already there. High performers train their bodies and skills intentionally. The mind deserves the same level of deliberate training. Think of mental training similar to injury prevention.

  • Sport psychology focuses on the mental skills that influence performance like confidence, focus, emotional regulation, resilience, and identity. Needs vary based off of how each performer is experiencing their situation.

Just as strength and mechanics can be trained, so can the mind.

  • Rates are determined based on the athlete’s specific goals, the depth of our partnership, and my current session availability.

Please check the Services page for current pricing and submit a contact form on the Contact page for questions and availability.

  • That is completely fine.

Faith integration is optional and only included when aligned with the athlete’s beliefs. My foundation is evidence-based performance psychology. The core principles of identity, discipline, and presence apply to all performers regardless of religious view.

  • Sessions are structured, intentional, and applied. We identify how the athlete currently experiences pressure, failure, success, and identity within their sport.

From there, we train specific skills such as attentional control, confidence development, visualization, emotional regulation, or pre-performance routines, and apply them directly to your competitive environment. The goal is performance transfer.
